Thought to be an English Antique Boiled Egg Caddy - Unknown History

Description

I believe this is a very old "Egg Caddy" that could be from England, but do not have any specific info on it. I purchased it in the late 1980's at an antique store while on a cruise in the Caribbean.
The eggs are real and have a small hole in the bottom.
