    Description

The Tactical Rx lineup of glasses is your complete solution to eye protection while shooting. These glasses are non-prescription out of the box and offer wrap around protection with Z87.1 protection from impacts and slim ear pieces to allow for a better seal under hearing protection.
HERE IS WHY THEY ARE DIFFERENT.
The parent company of Tactical Rx invented the wrap frame prescription lens more than 2 decades ago and they have been retrofitting all other manufacturers frames with Rx lenses for literally decades.  If your eye doctor told you that wrap frame lenses could not be done without distortion or that your Rx was too strong, you need a second opinion.  The Tactical Rx glasses can be retrofitted with single vision, bifocal, or progressive lenses in clear, polarized, photochromic, mirrored, or colored Rx lenses without using inserts.   You simply get a pair of TacticalRx glasses like these SOB's shown here, then contact
    www.tacticalrx.com
by phone or email and they will take your current Rx and they can sell you a custom set of lenses for your glasses.  I can only sell the non-Rx glasses on here due to ebay policies on Rx.
    WHY THIS IS BETTER.
In the past vision solutions were limited.  Some of the "solutions" seen over the years.
    1. You could put large goggles over your everyday glasses to shoot, but then you have 4 lens surfaces to keep clean and fog free, as well as reflections and distortion, and the best you can possibly hope for is that the area directly in front of your line of sight is in focus because there is no correction of the peripheral vision.
    2. Standard or large flat lenses with side shields.  This solution is still used by many shotgun shooters, although I'm not sure why.  The large flat lenses (aviator style) offer a larger field of vision than a typical everyday pair of fashion glasses.  The drawbacks are the complete lack of peripheral vision and the fact that 90% of the people never put on the side shields.  Also many people use glass lenses instead of an impact resistant Polycarbonate lens designed to take an impact.
    3. You could get an insert made for some wrap frame glasses.  This involved a small plastic insert that sits on the bridge of your glasses with your Rx lenses usually made from CR39 plastic behind the more stylish brand "X" glasses.  This is the most common solution offered by most opticians.  While this offers a better fit and less weight than wearing 2 pairs of glasses, you still have the same issues of 2 sets of lenses creating reflection, distortion, and no peripheral vision in focus.
The TacticalRx solution gives you the best of every situation.  They will custom mill a lens in your Rx to fit these frames. Because they sit closer to your eyes, your field of vision will be even larger than with the large flat lenses. The lenses will be lightweight, lab certified impact resistant, and give you peripheral vision in focus.  For many people they are so comfortable and stylish, you can wear them every day, especially if you opt for grey lenses or Rx lenses in polarized or photochromic.  If you are required to wear safety glasses on the job like many police officers, construction workers, auto mechanics or factory workers, your glasses MUST be comfortable to wear them 40+ hours a week.  These are the glasses for you!
    Your glasses will come with:
1 pair of complete glasses in either gray or clear, non prescription impact resistant lenses.  The frame and temples are individually marked with the Z87.1 compliance markings.  I do have some battleship grey frames available in some models, please ask.
    1 clamshell case
    1 cleaning cloth
1 instruction card for ordering Rx lenses from
    www.tacticalrx.com
(Rx lenses are purchased at additional cost directly from TacticalRx (the manufacturer) and can be marked with the proper safety rating to comply with employers and government requirements for safety) Rx lenses start at around 0 for single vision with scratch coating using the best lens materials available and go up from there depending on your specific needs.
