    Description

For sale is a great Vintage Lamosa, Ladrillera Monterrey, Mexico folk art tile dish depicting a Donkey and a Dog on rolling green hills with a tiled Ranch House in the distance and a fruited cactus in the foreground. Traditionally, many of these beautiful tiles depict daily life in Mexico in Vibrant hand-painted glazes. The tile has a satin finish and is signed in the lower left corner. The tile has been made into a dish with a tin beveled edge and four rounded feet. We purchased this tile at an Estate Sale where we were advised that it dates back to the 1930s-1940s. The tile base measures approximately 4 ½” square while the top opening measures 5 ¾” square by 1 ½” tall. The piece is in lovely condition with the expected wear for its age including patina on the tin sides and a split in one corner where the tin is jointed and can be easily repaired with a little solder if desired. Please examine all photos carefully prior to purchase.
