    Description

Original World War I Soldier Marine Sailor Keep ‘em Smiling!
War Camp Community Service Poster 1918 by M. Leone Bracker
This is quite a nice, absolutely original World War I morale boosting poster that measures 27-¾ x 41-¾ inches with art signed M. Leone Bracker 1918 artwork at the top, a War Camp Community Service logo near the bottom, and the words
keep ‘em smiling!  help War Camp Community Service  “morale is winning the war”  UNITED WAR WORK CAMPAIGN
    .
We have very carefully photographed this poster against a drop-out background so that potential bidders can see every flaw on this 102 year old poster better than we could see it the day we bought it.  Beyond the staining along the right edge and the chips along the edges of the top and sides, and one small hole above the USMC visor cap on the Marine’s head, there is little damage to this rare WWI poster.  It could still be saved beautifully with proper preservation available almost anywhere where people work with mounting and framing artwork.  Most importantly, it needs to be mounted on archival paper or light canvas, and it will be here several hundred more years.
We have never owned an example of this poster and we have been collecting military posters for more than fifty years.  We will ship it rolled up and in a strong tube.
