    Description

    Original 1918 produced World War I poster by the title 'THAT LIBERTY SHALL NOT PERISH FROM THE EARTH BUY LIBERTY BONDS FOURTH LIBERTY LOAN'.
    The poster was printed in 1918 by Alco Gravure Co. Inc. N.Y. utilizing the color lithographic process from artwork done by American artist Joseph Pennell.
    The poster measures approximately 33"h x 21.5"w.
    There are no stains or areas of discoloration.
    Condition issues include a 3" long edge tear on the upper border, two 3/4" tears in the body of the poster, edge roughness with short tears, surface wrinkles and loss on border edge, old paper tape repair on the back side of the upper border area and a strip of paper tape on the front side of the upper border.  The upper border has a 3/4" x 1/2" missing piece.
    This poster is an original World War I poster of the period and is not a later copy, is not a re-issue and is not a reproduction.  This poster has never been offered for sale before this time having been part of a collection put together many years ago.
    The poster is in the condition as it was found unmounted and unbacked having been stored away for many years.  I have not repaired, restored or tampered with the poster in any way.
    On some computer monitors the images seen in the listing may appear to show the colors of the poster to be muted or there may be a shine seen which is a reflection from either the camera flash or light but in actuality the colors of the poster are of even tonality.
    For ultimate protection a preservation sheet of transparent neutral ph glassine will be rolled together with the poster, placed within a wrapped plastic bag for extra protection and sent within a high quality exceptionally durable Yazoo Mills shipping tube.  Please be assured that I package as carefully and securely as possible so that you will receive the poster in the condition as described in the listing.
