DESCRIPTION:
Very large original WWI patriotic WAR SAVINGS STAMPS (WSS)  poster. SCANS SHOW ALL. This is a great, detailed advertising poster intended to get you thinking about doing more for your country, supporting our military activities, etc., by buying WAR SAVINGS STAMPS. Tells all about them, what they do, how to buy them, etc., etc., and how important they are.
THIS IS PARTICULARLY NICE & UNUSUAL AS IT RELATES TO THIS ASPECT OF THE U.S. TREASURY DEPT. AND THEIR IMPORTANCE & THE WORK THEY WERE DOING TO HELP THE WAR EFFORT. Something different for your WWI collection. Would look great as decoration in a bank or other financial office.
This one is also dated which is always scarce and nice. "Government Printing Office, 1918".
Very patriotic and captures THE COOPERATIVE "work together" spirit of the war & specifically in this case to help advertise the financial support background and part of the effort.  Posters were primarily printed as a reminder, to reinforce the basic themes. Generally they were pasted on walls, or  put in windows
. Often the ones we see now were "proofs" prepared by the printer before the run was started. Or, kept as souvenirs by whoever put them up. The ones that were used obviously took a lot of abuse and wear and did not survive. This one was obviously kept as a souvenir, accounting for its survival in such nice condition.
THIS ONE IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION AND MAKES A GREAT WWI COLLECTION DISPLAY ITEM. I will send it carefully rolled up in a document tube. It could be matted or framed or just put up on the wall as received.
